This home page introduces medicating children and students and explores the idea of what constitutes overmedication.

The world of education has has made drastic changes from the days of route memorization and tedious desk work, and along with that, extra attention is being paid to child development and mental illness. These things have been focused on so closely in the last two decades or so that more and more kids and students are being diagnosed with behavioral and mental disorders such as ADD and ADHD, resulting in the rise of pharmaceutical treatments as well. Consequently, concerns have been raised that today's youth has become "Generation Rx" because of overmedication. But the interesting thing does not seem to be how much kids are medicated, but rather the simple fact that they are medicated at all. So while it is difficult to say exactly what constitutes overmedication, the struggle seems to exist between medicate vs. don't medicate.
